Lost power? Follow these steps to connect your generator:
- Move your generator outside of your home, garage or shed.
- Start your generator following the manufaturers instructions.
- Connect your generator to the inlet using the appropriate cord.
- To ease the connection, ensure to line up the pins on the cord.
- Turn off the utility supply at the transfer switch in the generator panel.
- Turn on the generator supply at the transfer switch in the generator panel.
Note: You may need to turn off certain loads in your panel to prevent overloading your generator
Power restored? Follow these steps to disconnect your generator:
- Turn off the generator supply at the transfer switch in the generator panel.
- Turn on the utility supply at the transfer switch in the generator panel.
- Disconnect your generator from the inlet.
- Stop your generator following the manufaturers instructions.
- Allow your generator to cool down before storing it.
