Lost power? Follow these steps to connect your generator:

 

• Move your generator outside of your home, garage or shed.

• Start your generator following the manufaturers instructions.

• Connect your generator to the inlet using the appropriate cord.

  • To ease the connection, ensure to line up the pins on the cord.

• Turn off the utility supply at the transfer switch in the generator panel.

• Turn on the generator supply at the transfer switch in the generator panel.

 

Note: You may need to turn off certain loads in your panel to prevent overloading your generator

 

Power restored? Follow these steps to disconnect your generator:

 

• Turn off the generator supply at the transfer switch in the generator panel.

• Turn on the utility supply at the transfer switch in the generator panel.

• Disconnect your generator from the inlet.

• Stop your generator following the manufaturers instructions.

• Allow your generator to cool down before storing it.
